I’ll make you my advise coach just this moment. I got accepted at this thing but my friends, if I’m not mistaken, didn’t. I got the impression that the ‘thing’ just accepted me because of my connections. I feel bad. What should I do?

I’m thinking this ‘thing’ you are referring to is an OJT, right? :)

First of all, don’t feel guilty about being the only person accepted. It’s not your fault that your friends didn’t get in. Probably, it’s just not the right job for them. I’m sure they’ll find something else, something they would enjoy more. Something they’re meant for. :) As for the reason behind your acceptance, if it is indeed true that you got in just because of your ‘connections’, instead of feeling bad, shouldn’t that motivate you to prove to them that you deserve that spot? Show them that you would’ve gotten in with or without connections. Para wala sila masabi, diba :)
